Welcome to Locker Room News

Like many of you who are reading this, I spend a lot of time at the gym.  My job in website work requires me to sit at a computer all day, so I sort of have to find another way to make up for all of that sitting time!   Although walking and being outdoors provides an opportunity to exercise, there is a therapeutic reward in having a gym membership.  I belong to the Bond Wellness Center, and also use the pool at Crotched Mountain Rehab center. My fellow gym members are my social life!  I look forward to seeing my gym friends, my instructors and my locker room buddies!  As employees, business owners, parents….whatever our responsibilities are, we can just be someone else at the gym,  graceful and strong,  uncoordinated and silly, tired, worn out, or happy and enthusiastic. Whatever our mood is, we are accepted at the gym, not judged on our performance, but praised and admired for our efforts.

For years now, practically every time I go to the gym, I leave the locker room with some bit of information that has some value to me.  I’ll find out about a new restaurant in town, or consignment shop that I really should visit, receive advice on how to not kill my plants, exchange recipes, hear about a good book or movie.  Sadly, I’ll also find out about gym acquaintances who are going through hard times due to illness, or tragedy. But these are things I need to know about.

So, this blog will be my attempt to share my locker room news with those of you who are interested.
